Will be on a weekend trip with 6 of my buddies. Now I'm looking for some games we can play there. Definitely will bring Tajemnicze Domostwo and Codenames with me, but what else?
Please recommend anything. We like meaty strategy games as well as silly party games.

Split up in 3 and 4 and play Terra Mystica, Madeira, Agricola, etc. Keyflower goes up to 6 (and does it quite well), but for 7 it gets hard to get any meatier than 7 Wonders.

FlowerFall! (It's 50% dexterity, 50% luck, and 100% silly. Also: Don't believe the community rating not recommending it at 7 - the number of voters there is too low to be significant; it plays the same with 6 as with 7. (There's a bit of downtime, and a distinct last-player advantage, but neither matters in a game like this.))

I assume that you are looking for games that you can play with 7.

RoboRally (up to 8 players)
Mega Civilization (up to 18 players)
Eclipse, including Eclipse: Rise of the Ancients (up to 9 players)
Diplomacy (unless you want to keep your friends)

Why not split sometimes into groups of 3 and 4? Many more choices then.

Thanks for the recommendations so far! We definitely want to play all together the same game, but apart from that any game is fair game

Junta is best with 7 players, so if you think that game could work with your group you should give it a try!

Yeah I did the advanced search, but there are still so many games to choose from and I usually don't play in a group of 7. That is why I was looking for your advice on what is working well.
There is also a very helpful geeklist: https://boardgamegeek.com/geeklist/208760/best-7-player-game...

Citadels plays up to 7 and with the new version coming out the old version is cheap as.

Cheers.

+1 Junta. Silly, meaty, and strategic.

Our family has 7, and we also play
Saboteur
Incan Gold
Roborally
Frank's Zoo
7 Wonders
Circus Maximus (chariot racing! Yeah!)

Oh God, I can't begin to imagine how much I would detest playing Citadels with 7 players.

7 Wonders ?

Say Anything is great for a group especially if you know the other players well.

Also something like Deception: Murder in Hong Kong or other hidden role games like The Resistance tend to play larger groups better.

Those are both great picks and I would definitely add 7 Wonders.

Social deduction games work well in big groups, consider something like Ultimate Werewolf: Deluxe Edition/One Night Ultimate Werewolf or Coup.

I too was going to mention Diplomacy, (and its affect on friendship), because whenever I think of a game for seven players, I instantly think of Diplomacy. But it is not a game for everyone, just those who don't mind lying and backstabbing their friends, (in the game).
(In case one hasn't played Diplomacy, it is extremely fun and one of my very favorite games, but again, it is not a game for everyone. I nearly lost a friend while playing it, (one who will, regretfully, NEVER play it again).

So be careful when playing it with your buddies, as you might lose one inadvertently.

Eclipse, with the expansion, is our usual game for seven to nine players.

It is too bad that there are just not that many good games for more than six players.

FWIW

I second 7 Wonders.

Cosmic Encounter has an expansion that allows for up to 8 (I think - but I think you actually need to buy two expansions).

Other than these (and Citadels) I am not sure of anything that plays that many that isn't a party game.

You could to a Memoir '44 overlord game, but that works best with 8, but one side could have the general play the central sections (not sure if this would give them an advantage or not). This would require 2 copies of the game though (or the overlord expansion)

Maybe take a look at Escape from the Aliens In Outer Space, which plays up to 8 and is a hidden movement game in which everyone is hidden. If your group gets into theme, it could be up your alley.

Obligatory Geeklist: Best with 7

Of those not mentioned I would suggest:

Shadows over Camelot: an excellent co-op (with possible traitor)
Formula D: for those great big dice and someone inevitably crashing
Ca$h 'n Gun$: for mexican stand-off mayhem
A Fake Artist Goes to New York: for drawing funny pictures

Is it a long weekend? You might be able to squeeze in a quick game of Empires in Arms: plays in just 6000 minutes!

If you have an iPhone/iPad, then I recommend List 'Em.

List 'Em brings the essence of a board game to the mobile device. A fast paced name game for 2 - 4 players or teams.

A random category is selected and a list of 10 associated items is generated. The players must names as many things related to the category within the time limit - but only answers on the list count. The lists are randomly generated and change between games! There is a brilliant range of categories.

It's free to try:
