'La Foire du jeu de Longueuil' is September 10 so I guess these rules out this date.

I'm wondering, wouldn't it be perfect to have the actual trade on septembrer 10th at the FDJL, since a lot of people would already be there? Better than having to reserve a second weekend in my opinion.

Is there an entrance fee?

Yes, good point. Maybe it would be possible to meet in the school where the FJL takes place, without having to go in the event itself, for those who just want to attend the trade?

It's not a very central location. Driving would be more of a hassle for anyone not on the south shore, and there's no Metro to get there. It's not a great place to have it, in my opinion. That said, it sounds like there is no location at the moment (not sure why).

True.

As for the time, I'd vote for an evening during the week personally... but I know it won't happen.

I'm just waiting on the Pub to get back to me to confirm that we'll be using it as a location again.

Quick clarification, are cash offers accepted (no worries, I will post these on the last day of the trade) or only GC's?

Second week-end of september is off as for the FJL.

If not, the location could be reajusted as being @ the FJL, but it could be a problem for some of the traders. Entrances fees, transport, location... But there is a lot of parking space available.

The location suggestion to change from the Randolph's Pub to it's newer location on Beaubien street could be interesting.

Just a few ideas like that.

I gladly back this idea, if the organizer is willing.

There's plenty of space inside - on a single floor-, functional A/C, lot of parking at a reasonable rate and it's only a 10 minutes walk from the nearest metro.

Questions regarding MOney and trade certificate.

Originally:

Quote:
NO CASH OFFERS, HOWEVER GIFT CERTIFICATES ARE OKAY.

My reasoning is that a trade for cash is essentially a sale, and I don't feel right about selling games through BGG without giving them their commission.

Which lead to:

Quote:
GIFT CERTIFICATE RULES

GCs are now considered like a sale, and are therefore subject to BGGs 3% commission. The person receiving the GC is responsible for the 3%. Failure to comply with the BGG rules can result in repercussions for the trade going forward.

Which implies that Gift Certificate and money offer now follow the same rules, they must both offer a 3% commission.

So would that not make the money offer valid again as they both require payment of commission? Money is much less annoying to handle than gift certificate and the results are the same.

I do agree with min 10$ and possibly only multiples of 5$ or 10$ to avoid becoming an auction.

Still waiting for a final date. I will update as soon as I have an answer.

Concerning cash: we'll do the same as last time, still enter it as misc. game accessory, with an altname of GC/Cash/etc

So cash is okay, still has to go through the marketplace.

I found the documentation on how to do this:

Cash Value Trades in Math Trades (and how to make a geek market listing for them)

Okay, this is getting too close to the deadline.

So I will just have to choose a date and hope that the pub is available.

So the trade date will be

September 24th

Time and location TBD
