Hello and welcome to the second Play-By-Forum of Robinson Crusoe: Adventure on the Cursed Island (at least on BGG)

The following rules will be used on this game:

d10-1 You must subscribe to this thread. I prefer to play fast games whenever possible. You have to check at least once a day. More, if you have the time. I'm on GMT-3, and I will probably have access all through the day and a few hours during the night, during weekdays. During weekends I will update the game once or twice a day. If you have to leave for a period of time, no problems, life happens! Just don't let us hanging and notify us that you will be away for a few days.

d10-2 All players must have their own copies of the game

d10-3 Please use the following posting conventions:
* Normal text for discussions.
* Italics for flavor texts.
* Bold for in-game moves and actions. I won't process any decisions/actions unless bolded in the thread or I receive them in geekmail.

d10-4 Make clear in each post who your character is by posting a banner or other character image at the top of your post. I made a post to each character, and will post them right below this initial post

d10-5 Each player is responsible for his own pawns and should interact with other players before deciding. I will post an image before processing to make sure we're on the same page.

Chapter 1 -- The Northern Winds

The wind was brutal. The mast went down during the night. Several members of the crew were swept out of the ship by the huge waves crashing on the deck.

- The Marauder is going down! Abandon ship!

Unfortunately, most didn't survive. The survival rafts were all turned by the waves. Some members of the crew were on a larger raft.

- Look! I see land! - said Martin, one of the ship's stewards.

That was it. Their last chance. The paddles were not going to be enough...
Trying desperately to paddle the raft nearer the coast, but being blown away by the wind, our four heroes, unknown to each other, paddled as if their lives depended on it. Well, that wasn't far from the truth.

But that was pointless. The tide was too strong. When they were about to give up hope, a massive wave sent the raft directly towards a rock. The raft, not much to begin with, now is nothing more than wreckage, vis.

And so they swam. Until they were out of strength, and then some more. Almost all members of the crew drowned on that faithful night.

Except for a handful of brave men and women...





I'll leave the images here so we can begin soon. The players can start discussing strategies. I'll update the first stages of the game in a couple of hours.

Phase 4 – Action
4.2 - Resolving Actions

1. Threat action:
- Ok, so you guys should just go ahead and scavenge the island, we're going to try and open up these crates, see what we can find. - said Celia, the Cook, pointing to Richelle, the young soldier. Richelle nods, and they begin to work on the crates while the rest of the survivors scatter up.
+1 Food, +1 Non-perishable food

2. Hunting:
Nothing indicates the presence of nearby beasts, so our survivors have decided not to try their luck on a useless task

3. Building:
Roderick, having had the craft of carpentry as his main job for many years in the past, looks around on the beach. He finds rigid and more-or-less straight branch he can easily break from a tree and a plaque of metal, along with some patches of a strong vine. He uses the hammer and some of the nails the survivors were able to savage from their raft, and successfully builds a shovel in just a couple of days.

Some time after that...
- Look, Celia... Spears are good, but it takes much more time to craft one, and we'd need a knife. But if you are able to break a strong branch in just the right way, we can make do. I'll try to make one, it might be useful... - Roderick was trying to impress the cook. Let's see how well he fared.

- Hello, guys... Good news is, I found some plains, west from here! There are some wild birds we can easily hunt, they don't seem too hard to catch. I got a swollen ankle and it rained while I was foraging, but the good news is that I've found some good flints and solid branches we can use for building. I also found some dry wood. Oh, and get that: I found some herbs! Now, I don't know much about them... but if I recall correctly, those are good for treating wounds! While I was gathering, though, I heard some noises. It seemed some kind of beast! I didn't wait around to see it though.

I'm sure as soon as we make a soup with those, we'll feel better (we'll need a pot though). And look at this!!! I found a saber! Granted, it rusty, but better than nothing, I'm sure we can use it. It seems somebody was here before us...

The Soldier and the Explorer bravely decide to starve instead of their companions. Each one loses 1 health.

2. Change camp:
- I think we should move the camp... The best location seems to be the plains, east from here; even though it won't provide us with much needed wood, we will at least have a lot of exploration options.

Chapter 2 -- Getting Used To It

- So, to summarize - Celia, the Cook, said with disdain - you want us to build a VERY LARGE pile of wood, wasting precious resources, and set it on fire? Do you really think a passing ship will see it?

- That is correct, yes. - replied Roderick - If you think I don't see how far-fetched that is, you got me all wrong. I don't think that will work for sure, I just think that it is our only choice. If memory serves me well, we were right on course, so it's only a matter of time before another merchant ship passes by. We just have to survive until then.

- And, again, build a massive bonfire?

- Yes.

- I won't say it is stupid. Maybe you're right, I don't know. But where will we find that much dry wood?

- And that, my friend, is what we'll have to find out.

- Exactly that. A fucking bear just wrecked our camp!

- ... No. It came on a boat, docked, went to our camp, destroyed it, then went back to the boat. OF COURSE THERE ARE BEARS ON THE ISLAND!
