Better mousetraps. He needs to build them.

They don't look like mousetraps. If they are why have they got different labels?

When zooming in on the picture it seems they are component storage solutions.
Based on Sam's comment I'd guess that Meeple Realty is the brand.

So why did John Giblin say they were mousetraps?

Sorry it was a joke on the phrase "build a better mousetrap", and the fact that there is a game called Mousetrap. They're wooden game box inserts that need to be assembled. It will probably take a while to assemble them all.

They could probably be used as mouse traps

By walloping the mouse from above... Like a mouse swatter?

Well, that escalated quickly.

Andrew, as you've probably figured out by now, they are storage solutions for different games. They come unassembled. They are nice to have for games with a lot of components, as they can help dramatically reduce the setup time. The Broken Token is another brand with similar products, though their designs are different.

Well, I was thinking the compartments could be used as a maze for the mouse to follow to the bait, and then....ummmm - somehow it gets trapped I guess.

Or you could wallop them, sure - its not very inventive tho

Throw in a few select rulebooks and you keep the mice occupied until they die of old age.

I don't know why you would need mouse traps near your boardgames. From the image galleries it seems that cats spend most of their time hiding in boardgame boxes anyway.

Yes David. I did get there in the end. And thankyou for your clear and concise answer to what I thought was a reasonable question. It can be frustrating at times. (For me, anyway.)

Many boardgamers, who tend to be bright people, often have a quirky sense of humour. On the interwebs, that often translates as "obscure"

{FWIW, I really don't think anyone was being "unhelpful" (or worse) on this particular thread.}
