Subject: Arms dealer too strong? rss

So I had a game with my friend and he gets the arms dealer scenario card. He straight off started his game without settling or attacking any planet and just call/follow warfare and trade (to trade his ship). We ended up need to end the game quickly because he is dominating every turn (earning like 6 points per turn).

So my question is, is he playing this wrongly or the card is just that powerful?

Sounds like someone was calling warfare/trade for him. My advice: Don't do that, make him do it. Now he's only making like 3 points per turn.

Sounds like someone was calling warfare/trade for him. My advice: Don't do that, make him do it. Now he's only making like 3 points per turn.


I played this card this weekend, with someone in this thread *ahem*....and I lost. So, there's that.

It does take a while to get that card out, and by then, the game is nearly over versus experienced players.

The advice still stands. You can't just let someone leach the role that is critical to their strategy. Make them call it too.
