I feel Deep: (The) Dark (Something) could serve as a nice starting point, as the setting feels a little bleak (in a good, dystopian way). Everyone has an agenda, and it's not exactly a heroic one.

Ermagerd.

How about just Deep, with no colons or subtitles?

Colons are sooooo overdone.

Just put a descriptive snippet on the box if you need to grab someone's attention. Smallworld has "...it's a world of slaughter after all" on the cover, and the game is not called Smallworld: It's a World of Slaughter After All. Scotland Yard has "a compelling detective game" on the cover... also not part of the official title. Similarly, Pandemic: Do You Have What It Takes To Save Humanity?, and Thunder Road: The Ram and Wreck Survival Game are not official titles.

Agricola seemed to do just fine without any sort of subtitle or tagline at all, no?

For some reason, this reminded me of the Foundation books. So i'm curious if one of the factions is like the Mule?

Putting a colon on it means a large company won't come after me when they want the word Deep.

And yet necessary:

- Pandemic: In the Lab
- Pandemic: On the Brink
- Pandemic: State of Emegency

The colons may not be printed, but they are implied.

Exception: The Expansions.

...but automatically?

And if one is worried about losing Deep to a legally trained wolverine, as I believe Trove had gone, I think maybe the colon won't save you, as ": The Crystal Caverns" didn't. ...or did I misunderstand what happened on that front?

To me they look more along the lines of a Romulan type vessel, but maybe its that green color.

The enterprise as far as I know does not have a look alike in 40k. Although perhaps my 40k knowledge is lacking.

Well that's an interesting comparison to the 40k tanks. I have *folders* of inspiration that I'm drawing from but that one was honestly not even in my periphery.

I think the biggest similarity is probably that the Rival presence ships have those forward sweeping wing structures, and I think you'll see as more ship concepts are put in the thread that my main goal is at-a-glance shape recognition. Angular-Forward vs. Organic vs. Swept back etc.

I'd also like to mention that the image making it look most tank like is a top-down angle, and that the profile images above might give a more accurate picture of the overall shape I was going for.

Cool comparison regardless!

Other than looking like they are both designed with more focus on agility than speed, they really don't look all that similar to me. And I honestly like the sketches more; there's more depth to them.

surprise

No doubt and I'm glad to hear it! I'll also shamelessly throw out my enjoyment of your work on Trove Vast

But if you're looking to add to those folders, definitely check out the Epic and Battlefleet Gothic lines.

Thanks! Any favorite models I should check out? I did a quick survey of my Facebook friends for favorite fictional space ships and reasons why, but no one used any miniature war gaming examples.
