It really explains how the scenarios work. And the Chaos Bag section talks about things changing the tokens in the bag based on how scenarios go and then it affects the rest of the campaign. Also how the effects of icon tokens change depending on the scenario.

I think this article should also put to rest the comparisons to Pathfinder, Lord of the Rings LCG, and Warhammer Quest.

Arkham Horror LCG seems very much a very different and new approach of making an RPG-like card game.

I had sort of dismissed the game figuring I already had too many LCG's and wait for Legend of Five Rings before adding another. This article completely changed that. I am very, very interested now. This may end up as a launch purchase.

I too had dismissed it figuring it was yet another Cthulhu re-skin. I'm still going to hold off until after I've played through Apocrypha Adventure Card Game, but this is definitely on my radar for the future.

Re-skin of what?
It's not a mirror of LOTR by any means. And it's not the same as Warhammer quest. So what is it a re themeing of?

Can someone explain to me what skill you use to investigate the study? The article isn't specific about it. Is it just perception intellect for investigation checks?

I meant to say that I initially dismissed it as a Cthulhu re-skin of an existing LCG, but was pleasantly surprised to discover otherwise.

I think it's more like "Apocrypha is what they WANTED to build, Pathfinder is what they were PAID TO BUILD". It's what they envisioned the sytem to turn into after fiddling with it multiple times within the Pathfinder framework.

Great read!

this is in jest but just to showcase a MAJOR difference between ah lcg and lotr lcg

and

I thought the article was good and gave a nice example flow of how one might play the game and make decisions. I definitely maintain this is different than LOTR LCG by a lot. Some keywords are used like Location but that's fine.

I noticed this as well. I've heard so much about LOTR LCG as one of the better soloable games. I had friend loan it to me and I couldn't get into it.

The fact that this is more campaign driven and has some RPG aspects is what peaks my interest.
