In Onus damage in melee is applied simultaneously, though the attacks are (necessarily) resolved one after the other. Yesterday i found that i was occasionally finding it difficult to remember which damage was part of the current melee and which was already in place (for purpose of counting modifiers). Here's a simple trick help keep that detail straight:

When a unit is in melee combat and takes damage, place the Wound marker somewhere along the edge of its card (or beside the card, if there's enough space). Wounds placed along the edge are not counted for purposes of calculating modifiers (-1 Attack per 3 wounds). Once the melee is completed (both attackers have made their attacks), move all Wound markers from the edge of their units to the center of the card. Only wounds in the center of the card are counted for purposes of calculating modifiers. If the number of Wounds in the center of the card exceed that units Life value, it's removed from play.

Happy ONUSing!
