I don't know. Stealing one piece of mail is apparently a 5 year felony, while deleting a single gov't email is only a 3 year felony.
Guess it'll depend on whether she is a candidate for president or a lesser person.
"Though Watanabe faces a statutory maximum of three years in custody, prosecutors have agreed to recommend that a term of imprisonment not exceed “the low end of the applicable Sentencing Guidelines range.”"
The postal work most likely will get a felony conviction and probation for dumping the mail if it didn't look like the mail was tampered with. In the case of most mail dumping, is that they had to much to delivered and was on the verge of being fired so they will do whatever to get the route done. A job isn't worth a felony however.
thats odd in regards to sentencing prosecutors normally want to push the envelope to the max as they see it as the best way to address recidivism and stamp out any allegations of being soft on crime whilst delivering their victory before they go onto their next post.
