Okay so there's a lot to memorize in EXCEED and I'm trying to start with internalizing the normal moves but I found it difficult to come up with and easy way of doing it. My format looked something like this:

Sweep

Beats:
Focus (2 life better trade)
Assualt (2 life better trade, they gain adv, they're stunned)
Block (1 force to stop stun, 2 to block all)
Grasp

Losses:
Dive
Spike
Cross

Grasp

Beats:
Cross
Assault
Focus

Losses:
Block
Sweep

Neutral:
Spike
Dive

As you can probably see this isn't the best way to memorize something. Does any one have a nice and easy way to internalize the RPS triangle of the normal attacks?

How is Focus a better trade FOR Sweep? Both would net 4 life loss and a lost card for the opponent.

Whoops forgot to factor in the armor. So that would change to neutral. The discard is even essentially erased by the card draw.

The simple version is that, for the Normals, the slow attacks (Focus/Sweep) lose to the medium attacks, the medium attacks (Spike/Dive) lose to the fast attacks, and the fast attacks (Assault/Cross/Grasp) lose to the slow attacks.

Of course, there are exceptions. Cross wins against Sweep, and Assault arguably does very well against Sweep and Focus in certain situations - sometimes closing in and getting Advantage is worth losing the damage-exchange.
