There's no simple explanation for anything important any of us do, and yeah the human tragedy consists of the necessity of living with the consequences, under pressure, under pressure. -Courage (For Hugh Maclennan): The Tragically Hip

Sushi Go! is a very light card drafting game in which players are trying to collect the best combination of cards to generate points. The player with the most points at the end of three rounds wins.

Everyone starts with a number of cards dependant upon how many players are participating. From your starting hand you will choose one card. Then everyone simultaneously reveals the card they chose and puts it in their tableau. You then hand the remainder of your cards to the player on your left, and take a new set of cards from the player on your right. This routine of choosing and passing cards continues until there are none remaining. The cards you've collected over the round are scored. This process is repeated twice more, and a final tally is taken.

Sushi Go! uses the same drafting mechanic found in games like Citadels, Fairy Tale, and Among the Stars. However, it is much easier to get into than any of those games. The iconography is straight forward and cutesy. The way in which cards combo off of each other for points is spelled out clearly on the bottom of each card.

I recommend Sushi Go! to anyone who likes card drafting games. Yes, it's light, but it makes for a fast, fun experience. It's great as a filler, or to wind the night down with. If you haven't tried a card drafting game before, then this is a great first one to purchase. It's easy to understand, and will allow you to get your head around the basic strategies involved in such games, priming you for more intricate drafting games in the future.
