Waited for the 2016 edition upgrades before even looking at this.
A buddy studied it and we set up the first scenario (1632?).
We went through a full phase of card play - figured out the cards, foraging, moving, splitting and merging columns, refusing battle, baggage points etc...
Then we ran through a mocked up battle between Horn and Tilly - some interesting choices and the Tactical Advantage allowed Tilly to rout the Swedes!
Then we quickly ran through the siege process (which, of course, would normally take several to many rounds) and looked at the nuances there.
Overall we invested about three hours in learning this. I had not read ANY of the rules prior to this playthrough but we looked up a lot of things and found answers to everything we were looking for (amazing).
All in all, an enjoyable experience. We certainly didn't see any "flaws" or broken-ness anywhere. I would definitely set this up and play again.
