is still on my table and I reference it quite a bit. LegioXIX and I are still playing via BPeM and I'm discovering a few things as the game progresses.

What is on your table for this month?

My latest purchases arrived! Now the owner of Medieval, Paratroop, War at Sea 2, The Far Seas, Duel in the Desert. cool sorry - so happy - just had to mention it

However, rules for September:

Roads to Leningrad - I'll be playing this FtF on Wednesday 21st for the first time
Victory in Normandy - I have an appointment to play this either Saturday 10th or 17th FtF
A House Divided - Currently reading and soloing. As I've never played this properly, thinking about starting a VASSAL game.
Paths of Glory - I have a "semi-appointment" to play this FtF on 'a' Thursday ASAP. Probably September.
Medieval - Started reading. No game planned yet, but curious about the mechanics.

- No complaints about playing wargames face to face this month!

See that look on Ieyasu's face? Exact same one I'm pulling as I translate this on the fly.

UPDATE: Up to the combat rules now. Will likely have it all done by this afternoon, meaning I can throw it on the table this evening and start pushing things around to check how much I've ballsed it up.

Pretty much done. After yesterday's play through I felt there was quite a bit I was missing, but on review, there wasn't that much to be tidied up. There are only a couple of points that are still beyond me at the moment, but they don't actually effect gameplay in any significant way - my brain's just to frazzled to word them done good like.

Tomorrow I'll start the presumably long journey of seeking the publisher's okay to upload it.

UPDATE #3:
Or it will be easier than I imagined and the creator himself will give me the okay in only a few hours! Just got to get it passed by BGG admin now.

UPDATE #4: Dusted. Until someone points out one of its many errors.

UPDATE #5: Okay, now it's dusted: the list of card effects is also complete. Sometimes they were quite easy to knock over, and other times I had to come back to them a day or a play later for them to truly click. Really looking forward to enjoying the game on its own merits now, rather than spending my time agonising over whether or not my rules interpretations are correct.

"And now something completely different."

My friend and I are trying something completely new (for us). A couple of old hex and counter guys are playing our first block game against one another.

I have stickered the blocks. Can you can get the "domino effect" for real using blocks? That's something you can't do with counters, but it might be doable with blocks. Maybe I will line them up and find out some day.

Rule book is short for this one. Reviews are very good. First game tomorrow.

Yeah, and I'm a little nervous about it. After all, I haven't played a block wargame since I last played Stratego in the early '60's!

Played for about 4 hours. I played Axis and Larz played allies. A learning game but it was a good game. Allies got hung up in Italy and spent too much time there. Axis was hanging on and we did get to Winter of 45. Allies most likely would break the industrial back of the Germans, but we both agreed that an Axis victory was likely.

Yeah, I was finding out that the Allies have a pretty tough time meeting that time table. No lolly-gagging. And I wasn't comitting enough bombers to infrastructure and replacement points. Cool game.
