What wargame or wargames have you just obtained? Please post your wargames that are newly in-hand.

That is...

HOLD OFF UNTIL THEY ARE PHYSICALLY IN YOUR POSSESSION.

Since you didn't spend your money during the summer conventions, time to spend it now!

Just got this on in:

The Scheldt Campaign

Last edition, by a brand new wargame editor.

Hollandspiele

Will play it next week.

It's using a very interesting "G6" command chit system. The counters are very very thick and laser-cut. As I like them.

Warming: Put on your gas mask when opening the box: a VERY strong chemical paint/ink odor emanates from the components! I will spread them in a table in the garage for a few days to "let them have some air".

I got special interest in that campaign as my Grandfather fought in it (Officer, Canadian Infantry).

He was kind of a serious Joker...

Don't normally purchase magazine games as they are invariably under-developed, but I made an exception with this one as the subject matter interests me...

And is this going to be the holy grail of WW1 Grand Strategy games...?

I succumbed to the Victory Point Games sale on old stock that was likely to disappear, and I (finally, after it was sent August 3 by priority mail) just received 3 solitaire wargames I'd been pondering for a while:

(...plus some other VPG stuff...)

Looking forward to playing these solitaire wargames, but man, I need to remember to seriously avoid ordering games from outside the EU again: crazy high postage costs, then the package got stuck in Polish customs limbo for several weeks, then when delivered today I had to pay 137.80 PLN = $35 more, sigh. And the customs fee is probably going to be even worse if my Band of Brothers kickstarter package ever shows up... :/

Still waiting for FAB: Golan '73, and I believe the postal office lost a package with 2 VPG games. cry

Oh well you win 1 you lose 3.

A World at War

Borrowed a friends copy. Set up on the floor in the spare room, our puppy chewed slow French battleship Bretagne, German 1st infantry, British sub, 81st West African, and a Russian tank corps. Bad Lola.

Had to buy Jon a replacement game so I got the damaged version. Now safely stacked on 4 boards on the dresser in the conservatory. Poland and the Baltic states have fallen. Nationalist China giving the Japanese a good fight. Romania and Finland are resisting Stalin's demands.

Today I received:
Age of Muskets Volume I: Tomb for an Empire

It is the beginning of what looks like a good series. Hopefully enough copies sold to encourage the company to venture on!!!!!!!

I received these in the last couple of days - two came today...

I have high hopes for this one.

Nice rules. Looks quick to get playing.

Ok, the next one is beginning to teeter a bit on the wargame veracity scale, but it is the Third Reich doing half of the fighting - and it is a blast to play!

And finally, while this next arrival is truly not a wargame, I am including it as it's so very cutthroat, a small scale war could easily break out among 3 or more players.

Just got a super 'French' haul and the excitement is thick in the air.

Seeing as I'm on an a French history mission at the moment, these are the latest additions:

Avec Infini Regret Les Guerres de Religion 1562-1598

Includes the battles of Dreux 1562, La Roche-L'abeille 1569 and Coutras 1587

Avec Infini Regret II Les Guerres de Religion 1562-1598 Volume 2 (which is just out by Vae Victis but doesn't have a BGG entry yet)

Includes the battles of Jury 1590, Marc'hallac'h 1591 and Craon 1592

Bellum Gallicum II Les Campagnes de César en Gaule.

And last but not least,

Falling Sky: The Gallic Revolt Against Caesar

I'm really looking forward to breaking these out as the cooler weather starts to arrive for autumn.

All the best with your gaming this month everyone!

Has the publisher reprinted the game counters so that we can actually read the information on them?

So no pictures. I purchased John Tiller's Eagles Strike computer game. I've already played two scenarios. I lost both the first time and won the second.
