I can't speak for everyone or towards how you might feel, but my wife and I really enjoy it with 2 players. I think I actually like it better than The Lords of Waterdeep base game. It just feels like a richer experience to me with more decisions (but still pretty easy to understand). That said, we have never played The Ancient World with more than 2 players, so we may not know what we are missing and 2 players could suck in comparison. Either way, the important part is that we like it.

While fun at 2, this game plays better at 3 or 4 in my opinion. The board gets a bit tighter, more Titans come out, and it makes your choices a bit more difficult.
