So there we were:
LY 8, 1 WL Set, 1 RH Set, not much more.
Do we hunt more White Lions? Or do we start to hunt the antelope?
Or do we try something new?
We decided to hunt the Flower Knight.
It was a cool fight, on level 1 we had no problems killing him, althoug or bravest survivor nearly died due toe the loss of blood.
And then we had the rewards and looked at the items we were able to craft:
Well ... no set there ... the weapons were more meehr. the sword / baton or whatever ever looked nice, but needed to be fed every ly with a flower, so you need to hunt the FK over and over again but for what?
The only worthwile item seems the bow - the best bow i have seen right now in the game, so it#s wort hunting a level 3 FK just for the bow.
But after that? Why should someone hunt the FK, except for the nice fight?
And what about the innovation? the reward text says that we add it to the innovation deck. but we don't have the prequistes for it? so how do we add it?
what monster would you start hunting in our situation?
leather set? start hunting phoenix? or may sunstalker (that is what we want to do) or dragon king?
The bow is awesome. Definitely worth it, especially if you don't plan on getting a Bow Master (since the FK bow only gets a slight +1 luck from Mastery).
Otherwise, the Virus Flower from the event is great to "backup" a key character, and the Fencing Art potentially learned from the Showdown is really, really great (especially for fights that tend to Doom or Frenzy characters a lot, crippling normal defenses).
You've prolly moved on now (considering date of post), but at LY8, you should be fine hunting Phoenixes (just make sure to take low Hunt XP characters, or take Insane ppl, and save Surges to purge Age tokens before they manifest). The Phoenix set is really great. It is more craftable, and (arguably) just as viable as an end-game set as any others (like dragon and lantern). You still prolly want to upgrade to Dragon or Blacksmith for most weapons.
I don't think the Antelope is really worth hunting much. Great for a max-Acanthus run, though. Or better odds of bone resources. Tends to run away a lot, though (two Hunt cards do so), and risks ambush by a higher-level Lion.
