(Apologies if this is the wrong Forum)

I have recently won a few BGG auctions of which the seller seems to have lost track.
In one: the seller set up a marketplace item (which I completed),
but failed to confirm the transaction from their side so the sale was cancelled.
In the other: the seller never even set up a marketplace transaction.
(Of unimportant interest: both of these sales were for the same item from different auctions/ sellers).

So, I'm a little put out by this:
Is there any remedy for this sort of thing,
or is it simply one of those statistically annoying things that happens?
I'm open to suggestions....

(Although, Yes: I did geekmail the sellers to ask if anything was wrong,
and expressing interest in completing the sale.
No response in either case.)

Sometimes auctions don't end up selling for as much as a seller hopes?

Who knows. Sometimes a price is too good to be true. I will say I don't have much experience in auctions on BGG, but what little experience I do have has been 100% perfect.

It is annoying to think a seller would back out of his/her own auction. Especially if he/she simply refuses to even acknowledge your attempts to complete the sale.

Not sure what recourse you have beyond live and learn. If you have to push the issue with the seller then one wonders if you want to actually send them money.

Fair Point.
It does take the fun out of looking through the auction listings, I can tell you.

Wow, rotten luck there White Elk! Don't let it get you down though! I have so far only had one case where I didn't pre-check a sellers ratings in the marketplace and had to nag, nag, nag to finally get my item shipped, so it is a rare occurrence I believe. Most folks actually like getting money!

If you 'won' the auction and met the auction's requirements then it's unacceptable for the seller simply to ignore the result.

Geekbay and auctions are a privilege and if everyone just disregarded the outcome there would be no point in anyone taking part.

That's not how auctions work, and there's no indication that the OP is talking about bidding under a reserve value.

Right.
In all cases, there was no soft reserve, and I bid the listed minimum bid.

I think I'll take both Hatter's and James' advice:
I don't think there is any purpose in pursuing the items,
but I'll let
