Hi!

In the Rulebook Book p. 37 (Lunar direkt)

Maneuver line 3:

lunar descent 2 10 Atlas, Juno 5

Why the juno rocket is necessary? In my opinion the thrust of the Atlas should be enough. Or not?

Please help, thx

Look at the Max Payload chart on the agency card: the maximum payload for an Atlas across a difficulty of 2 is 9.5; since the spacecraft has a payload of 10 another rocket is needed.

At a difficulty of 2, an Atlas can only carry a payload of 9.5, so the Juno rocket, which can take a payload of 1 at difficulty 2, is needed to provide the rest of the thrust.

Looking at the figures:
Payload (10) + Atlas (4) = 14. At difficulty 2, the required thrust is 28, and an Atlas only provides 27.

Adding in a Juno (weight 1) ups the total weight to 15, so the required thrust is 30. The Juno provides 4 thrust, bringing the total to 31, which is now enough.
