Looking for games to play with some of the Saxes for when we have hours-long bus rides to various competitions. I want to get some of my section members involved with game-playing and have a good time with each other at a time when they would otherwise be watching YouTube videos or making out with each other.

Looking for games that:
-are small (can be played easily on the seat of a school bus)
-easy to pick up (if they can't learn it quickly, they'd probably not bother trying it out)
-appealing to average teenagers (not Board Game Geeks)

If you can fit a dice tray for rolls into someone's case...Zombie Dice. Don't think they'd roll too well on the seats.

Definitely +1 for Zombie Dice, it was the first one that came to my mind, considering the players and the conditions. It will accommodate any and all who want to play, and you'd need only a shallow box, or even a box lid, to roll in, while someone keeps score on a piece of notebook paper.

If the game goes over well, you can be ready to add the Double Feature and/or School Bus expansions to further enhance the play.

What about typical card games like Tichu ?
Or if your table in the Bus is fairly stable, what about games like Hive Pocket ?

The Japanese can play Machi Koro on a train, on a single small tablet.

Can you?
