I'm in the process of making a player aid for myself - I've done a few already and am currently doing one for the PTO terrain, and there is a notes reference for 'In-season Paddy' that I don't understand.

On the 'PTO Terrain Chart', LOS/Obstacle column it has 'In-Season Paddy' down as an inherent Hindrance and with a note - the note (*) says '$Grain (halved; FRD)'.

So this is saying it is essentially to be treated like 'grain' but what is the 'halved' bit referring to?

Apologies in advance if this is obvious.

Thanks, I missed the 8.4 reference under the specific 8.13 item for in-season paddy.

IIRC,the Desperation Morale site already has a paddy game aid.

I'm actually just doing a PTO terrain aid - I do them as narrow tables that can sit in front of you and the board when playing rather than man-handling the rule book. Also making the aids actually helps the rules to stick in your head anyway.

Well, the rice paddy aid at DM seems to fit your definition.

But you are right that crafting one yourself is a good way to memorize the rule.

Very useful for Paddies but I was wanting all PTO terrain - see below for my ETO terrain chart and IFT - I print them out on label paper mount them onto card and laminate them. I like this format as they can simply sit between you and the board and you don't have to flip loads of pages. I have another infantry one for Close Combat related stuff and on the back there is the gun/AFV to hit and effect charts and modifiers done in the same format.

Your charts remind me of the excellent Rat Pocket Charts made by Le Franc-Tireur.
