No, that's not the usual thread where russ will pop up pointing a link to the FAQ (excellent work btw). I had a game today with a friend that knew the game but apparently had been playing it wrong all the time! I found it hilarious, so I wanted to share it with you.

As we know, when Step 2 begins, we "remove once the lowest power plant from the game and draw a replacement, rearranging the market as always". That guy was literally interpreting the rule as "even in the players' areas; therefore, the Power Plant #03 is very powerful, you discard it and get another one, which could even be #50".

Just because the rules were stating "in the game" and not "in the market" he was literally thinking that the player who owned #03 (the lowest plant) would always have a get-a-free-plant-card in hand, as he would discard it to get another one! laugh I cannot remotely imagine how disturbingly this rule would break the whole game.

Maybe a variant designed by Carl Chudyk.

Yikes! That's a pretty significant rules misunderstanding!

Wow... that would certainly add a large dollop of significant randomness at that moment!

You know, that's quite an interesting variant. It wouldn't always be the number 3 plant either as people might be discarding plants (or not buying low power plants) before step 2

Imagine how you'd feel if you buy a plant and discard #3 just before the fusion plant landed in Step 2

He never questioned the meaning of 'rearranging the market as always' and how his way wouldn't affect the market at all?
