Is there any reliable source for the existence of this game in antiquity? I do not know any publication on ancient egyptian or mesopotamian games where such a game is discussed? Not even in the new book by Walter Crist, Anne-Elizabeth Dunn-Vaturi and Alex de Voogt "Ancienjt Egyptians at Play", Bloomsbury, London/NY 2016 something like this is mentioned. Where does the name come from? What is the source for the rules? Who made this up?

Even if a board of 7x7 squares had been found, this does not tell us anything about the rules, especially since "Seeja" (siga) is also played on such boards.

Thanks for information
