I love the COIN series and play exclusively solo. After some testing I find playing with two bots instead of three much more rewarding, quicker and less fiddly.

In my experience I win more games when playing with 2 bots instead of 3.

Is this the experience from other solo gamers?
Should there be a tweak to Victory conditions?
Oerjan... my bot guru - do you have an opinion?

Cheers Søren

Not sure many people would play only with two bots (I haven't heard this before at least).
And I don't really see the point... if you are fine playing different factions yourself, why don't you play all 4? Or perhaps I misunderstand how you play the remaining two factions?

Hi Didier,

It is me that is unclear...

I play two of the factions against two bots.

I wasn't involved in the FS development other than very peripherally, so I can't help you there...

For a player victory, do you take the lower of your two factions score?

Soren: I actually thought of the 2 vs. 2 but for whatever reason concluded this was not in the FS rules!
Interesting suggestion... I think I will give it a try. I can easily imagine that it is easier to win as you only have 2 factions working against you instead of 3. And playing with the Roman, it certainly helps if you can always have Aedui agree to supply lines!

To Stewart's question, yes you should take the lower victory margin of the two factions when playing under this setting (with one exception noted in 1.5.1). So perhaps when playing 2 vs Bots, this would require some tweaking to increase the level of challenge. Perhaps take the maximum score for the Bots?
