Was just about to start painting the investigators according to their card-art, when I noticed that some of the 1:ed investigators looks quite different in 2:ed.

After reading up on Young and that she should be afro-american, which clearly is not hinted at in the MoM card, but much more so in the AH card.. I wonder what else might be wrong here.

So, how about if we get started on a list of investigators and stuff that might not come through in the descriptions on the MoM 2:ed cards?

Rita Young
The athlete
She looks more darkhaired in AH than in MoM 2:ed.

Overall Gloria looks quite different in MoM 2:ed compared to 1:ed.
Does she exist in any other game with another portrait?

Great thread Marcus. You've hit on one of the minor nits I picked in my component review. It's a little confusing to drop new character art in for the investigators when the same portraits have been used across multiple games previously.

I actually prefer the original art. Not just because I'm familiar with it, I think the portraits are better than the new ones. When you factor in that many of the miniatures are based on that original art in pose and clothing, it becomes more problematic. Bob Jenkins' suit colour has changed, if I remember correctly.

That nailed it Magnus. The premium figure is painted (as is my own MoM figure) with a light grey suit to correspond with the AH/MoM 1e portrait.

This highlights the point I was making about the new portraits not reflecting previous products or art. It's not rocket science to figure out who is who, but it certainly would have made it a total non-issue by sticking with artistic conventions that were already established. It's a minor nit to pick though, and one of VERY few that 2e has.

Perhaps it came down to instructions handed on (or not) to the artist/s doing the new portraits. Case in point is Jenny Barnes, who is still rocking the blue summer frock and hat with the uneven brim. I do miss her 'two gun kicking ass' pose from 1e. It was one of the best pics and the miniature is an excellent physical representation of it.
