There are 10 kinds of people who understand binary: Those who do, and those who don't.

Everyone knows that an African elephant has bigger ears than an Indian elephant. Or is it the other way around? Are one-hump camels from Africa and two-hump camels from Mongolia. Sounds right...

Even worse-- two similar looking animals, with biological and common name differences. Can you spot the difference on these examples?

Damn, I got more of those wrong than I wanted. Good quiz though!

Spoiler (click to reveal)
- I thought that the crow's head looked too rounded and songbird-like. So I guessed A. Bzzt.
- Frogs are easy.
- Alligators have wide snouts. Easy.
- Crickets can't fly (much? at all?), grasshoppers can. Look for the wings.
- Flipper was a dolphin. I should have gotten this one. No clue what I was thinking. Bzzt.
- Easy. Which looks more like my cousin? That's the chimp.
- Echidnas are from Australia and thus I picked the weirder looking creature. Got it right.
- Rats look like rats.
- Hares have crazy gleams in their eyes. Bunnies look cute. Easy.
- I don't know what makes a wasp different from a hornet, but I knew that the one on the bottom was a wasp, so elimination says that the top is a hornet.

I messed up on the crow/raven and grasshopper/cricket ones.

- Neither bird was saying, "Nevermore! " so I couldn't tell.
-Toads are warty buggers
-Alligators are beefy critters
-I always thought that crickets were the bigger ones...oops!
-Bottlenose dolphins have long noses so spotting the porpoise was easy!
-Big eared Bonzo =chimpanzee
-Echidnas=weird
-Rats have icky long ugly tails and are big.
-Hare=long ears. Bunny rabbits are cute and hang out in my backyard.
-Wasp=skinny in the middle, hence the term "wasp waisted" used to describe someone with a small waistline.

Must be a British thing. I've never heard anybody say that toads are frogs, and a quick web search indicates that no, frogs and toads are distinct. Both are members of order anura (class amphibia), but some families of anura are frogs, some are frogs. The order anura is considered to be "the frog order," but that's because all frogs are anura, not because all of anura are frogs.

Edit: OK, found a reference saying that taxonomically, all of anura are indeed frogs, but in common usage, they are distinct. General consensus is that toads are toads and they are not frogs!

Im pretty sure men get stupider over time in Florida.

Heavy metal poisoning because the realtor failed to mention your house was a meth lab?

As for crows, I've had people mention to me how astonishingly big the crows are in Alaska. Those are ravens, dude.

Edit: after posting I did what I should have done before posting.

I played the "Florida man" game.

I news-googled "Florida man"

Other than links to the new Dave Berry book, this was the first hit.

I'm a bit confused by the last questions. Aren't hornets wasps?

Or to paraphrase the frog/toad comment; all hornets are are wasps, but not all wasps are hornets.

I think that is correct. I've heard this: "A hornet is just a wasp on steroids."
But I've also heard that hornets will generally leave you alone if you don't get up in their grill first, whereas wasps are evil, vindictive, persistent, and should be eradicated from the Earth.

Let some other bug eat the aphids; wasps have very little purpose otherwise.

Wikipedia says you're right: "Hornets (insects in the genera Vespa and Provespa) are the largest of the eusocial wasps..." But the question is "which is a hornet?" And only one is a hornet. So take out the "One is not a wasp" comment, and it's still a good question.
