This weekend, we plowed through the first three scenarios of Mansions of Madness, and the latest two expansions of TIME Stories. We enjoyed both games immensely, and I want to search out other titles in a similar vein.

Above and Below is on my radar. Could you recommend a game that works with two, and has storytelling/character-driven narrative, and is co-op with little or no hidden information? Bonus points if it was published recently.

Thank you all in advance.

These are some of my favorites for straight up narrative:

Eldritch Horror
London Dread
Tales of the Arabian Nights
Mice and Mystics

Not narrative, but historically and thematically rich:

The Grizzled
Freedom: The Underground Railroad
Commissioned

All Co-ops, of course. And if you are playing as a couple, I highly recommend ...and then, we held hands..

I don't know whether it's out yet, but The 7th Continent, maybe The Lord of the Rings: The Card Game (though that one's not too character-driven, but there's quite some neat storytelling around the newer scenarios), Mice and Mystics (might have been mentioned before), Descent: Journeys in the Dark (Second Edition).

I see you have Pathfinder Adventure Card Game base set. The game can be played without paying much attention to the story, but there are also ways to bring out the roleplaying aspect. My wife and I have been playing it with 1 character each for most scenarios, and it works well. (There are a few scenarios that may be too tough for us with just 2 characters.)

7th Continent is not out yet, but that's an excellent suggestion.

This game has no story, unless
a) you know the RPG Adventure Path it's based on,
b) you use the fan-created 'story' expansion.

I guess, the best titles have already been mentioned. There are a few games that I enjoy that have stories that evolve from gameplay, e.g. Robinson Crusoe: Adventures on the Cursed Island or Arkham Horror.

Mice and Mystics is often suggested in this context, as well.

A bit from the left side, since it's not a cooperative at all, but short, for 2 players, and with a story emerging from play : Lord of the Rings: The Confrontation.

I just thought of another one. Gloomhaven. That's not out yet, but it's very much story-based from what I gather.

Another late reply, but Mythos Tales will be in retail in a few weeks. You can PnP the first case on their KS site. Great game!
