I was wondering whether there were any games where you can collect a bunch of animals that is similar to the Pokemon Master Trainer games?

Pokémon Master Trainer

Pokémon Master Trainer II

Maybe one that takes place in a zoo?

I've played Ark before, but I didn't like it because I had a hard time finding places for certain animals on the ark.

I prefer easier games, that is with a light or light/medium weight, with as much luck involved as skill, maybe even more luck than skill.

I remember seeing ads in National Geographic Kids magazine for a trading card game called Xeko. Ever since then I was interested in playing it.

Xēko Mission: Costa Rica

Besides that it's not a card game, it seems like a no-brainer:

Zooloretto

Don't know anything about the Pokémon Master Trainer games but it's remarkable how few zoo games there are: Zoo Games

If anyone knows any, pls add! (If they're really zoo games and not just animal games or games that only bear "zoo" in their name.)

Zooloretto is the most popular and readily available, but my favorite game with a zoo theme is O Zoo le Mio.

Fantastiqa is probably the closest thing I've played to the Master Trainer games. It takes place in a Narnia-like, fantasy world. You subdue creatures and add them to your deck. It's kind of like a light deck-builder/adventure game.

I have no idea where you could get this (I acquired it through Kickstarter), but gadZOOks! is a light animal collection game.

Wildlife Adventure is an older one that's been rethemed several times.

Costa Rica is a quick press-your-luck safari.

Zooloretto looks great. I'll look at some more of the games later.

Wildlife Safari is a fun one with great pieces.

I would say it's not like Pokemon though.

Wildlife Adventure looks like the kind of game I had in mind. It sort of reminds me of Ticket to Ride. Wildlife Safari not so much. It reminds me too much of Pit.

O Zoo le Mio looks good, too. That one's similar to Carcassonne with the tiles and Meeple.

Habitats is from this year. I think it's the closest to what I had in mind since it has 68 animals species and the Pokemon Master Trainer games have 150+.
