Hi,

I recently got the Lord of the Fries Long Wok on short Pier deck and read the rules to both this and the Irish deck as well as the base game.

The base game says to distribute all the cards out but the stand alone Chinese and Irish decks say to only give certain number of cards to players based on a cart.

Would compleatly dividing all the cards out and using both the Family Restaurant and Stew Pot special rules all at the same time change the game too much? Would it be better?

David:

You may be looking at two different editions of the game. In the current base game, you are not advised to deal out the entire deck. The starting hand sizes for a 54-card deck are:

Players/Cards: 2/15 3/12 4/11 5/10 6/9

If you have a 72-card deck, they are:

Players/Cards: 2-4/15 5/12 6/11 7/10 8/9

The hand sizing is a new rule in this edition to keep games with fewer players (or larger decks) from running too long. But you should feel free to try any variation that works for you.

Thanks!

James Ernest
