There are 10 kinds of people who understand binary: Those who do, and those who don't.

You've heard the saying, "there's no such thing as bad publicity"?

I spoke with a home builder one time after I went through their show home.
"How did you like it?" he asked.
"Other than the green cabinet faces in the kitchen, I really liked the layout and finishing."
"Ahh! But you remembered the cabinets. We can change those or make them any color that you want. You may not have liked it, but you remember the kitchen, don't you?"

They made a conscious effort to be different than the other 4 homes on the same block from the other three builders. It was 16 years ago, and I've forgotten everything about the other three builders' homes.

I sometime watch the BBC shows about buying and selling properties in the UK, and more than a few of the houses over there have rooms that look just like your photos.

Have you seen that new Taco Bell commercial with hipster "Allen" and the fondue party? That is totally the home for him...

There is a road, no simple highway, between the dawn and the dark of night, and if you go no one may follow, that path is for your steps alone. Ripple in still water, when there is no pebble tossed, nor wind to blow.

To seek the sacred river Alph, to walk the caves of ice, to break my fast on honey dew and drink the milk of paradise... I had heard the whispered tales of immortality, the deepest mystery, from an ancient book I took a clue.

When I was a kid, my parents bedroom had purple shag carpeting. I can't seem to push it out of my mind 50 years later

The Brady Bunch kitchen is perhaps the most famous kitchen of the 70s. The red counter top and yellow stove top scream 70s. The brickwork however is something you might find in a kitchen today.

I tend to think that kitchens are the thing that makes or breaks the sale. When I think back to the nearly 20 houses my wife and I looked at before settling on the one we have now, the thing I remember most about those other houses are the kitchens. (Too small, too weird, too non-existent.) And the thing that sold us on our current house was the kitchen.

Kitchens and bathrooms sell houses these days. People want updated and functional kitchens.

I don't know ... personally I don't think it's a seventies house unless it's got a large horizontal stripe.

You beat me to it...what do they call that shade of purple, "2 a.m. Sky On Magic Mushrooms"?

I love it, but there's no way I could use that toilet. I'd be terrified I'd look up and have those two creepy little girls from The Shining watching me...

I bought my house primarily because of the family room. The house was still under construction when I bought it and they had the family room wired for surround sound during construction, so all the wiring is inside the walls. I now have a 3-D TV, a J-shaped bar and about 1/3 of my games in that room. The house also has a large kitchen with a granite-top island in the middle. But, to me, that's just incidental . . . I love my sloth-and-gluttony family room.

If you are on LSD (good LSD mind you), that would look like a regular still photo of a wolf.
