Playing the goblin and had a couple questions come up. With the poison secret card where do the hero cubes get pulled from?

Second the trap card. Which dragon abilities can this card negate and at which point do you decide to discard the trap card?

Thirdly the cave ability soporific spores. Which goblin tribe gets reduced. Is it the caves choice and does it have to be on the board?

Also does your Rage increase from scratch?

The cubes are taken from the ones available to the Knight, means she'll have to remove some that were already placed.

Depending on the cubes she chooses, this will usually result in the reduction of some stats and/or the loss of abilities that were in effect.

It protects against Dragon abilities that attack Goblins directly, specifically Claw, Scratch, and Hiss. If you want to use the effect, you have to choose to use it immediately after the tribe is hit with the ability, before you scatter or reduce population.

The Goblin player chooses the Tribe. It does have to be a tribe that can be reduced, if possible - you can't dump it on a tribe at 0 or 1 to negate the effect entirely.

It seems to me the Knight would want to pull cubes from movement first, since that doesn't affect anything off-turn. Is that OK? Or does it have to be from something like strength, which DOES affect things off-turn?

She can choose any cube(s) she wants.

Movement and non-Shield equipment are the "safest" to remove, but those aren't always options.

Perception is relatively safe too if you're only dealing with Goblins and/or the Dragon, but not so much if there's a Thief nearby.

I have a question:

If all three goblin tribes are already only one in population or even zero, then can the cave player use soporific spores to target the goblin player?

Thanks!

Yes, but it would be a waste of the Omen tokens because it wouldn't do anything.
