Hi, wonder if any of you heard anything about the future of this game or even of Prodos. Last month AvP rules, 2.0 were released. To celebrate the new rules Prodos had a massive 30 - 40% off sale until the end of August. Well its the second week into September, and the sale is still going on. Are they liquidating their AvP miniatures and abandoning the game? If so I feel bad for the backers who never received the other extras that were promised to them. THis included the Predator Ship Tiles, and the rulebook if they backed that. I don't remember what else made it into the game, since Prodos "accidentally" took off their Kickstarter Page and of course stretch goals.

Also I noticed that Dust Studios will be creating the new Siege of the Citadel miniatures. As we know that game takes place in the Mutant Chronicles Universe, the same miniatures that Prodos produces. Prodos was once mentioned of making the miniatures for Siege, but that task has fallen onto Dust Studios, with no further mention of Prodos.

Could this be the end of Prodos in general?

thoughts?

If i were a betting man (which im not), i'd say that all the information regarding AvP and its future abandonment is all a ruse from Prodos to spur folks on to buying stock.
It hasn't made me buy anything i wouldn't have bought anyways, as the postage from Poland makes it no cheaper than buying from ebay dealers in the UK.
If the "sale" has not made Prodos enough money then they only have themselves to blame (maybe fox too, if rumours are to be believed).
There is the most meaningful word, BELIEVED, throughout the whole short history of this game no one can or could believe anything that the people supposed to be in the know have said.

The only advice i or anyone can give you regarding this game is, "take a chance or play it safe". The only thing is none of us know which is which, buy or not buy?

Sorry if none of that helps or makes sense, but that sums up AvP and Prodos to a tee. Hey ho.

I have thought of this too. They, Prodos, were supposed to release on piece figures once the initial Kickstarter backstock is sold out. We've seen the previews of the one piece Predator model and that was it. Maybe they want to sell this stock as fast as possible to get that version out (AvP 2.0). Someone correct me if I am wrong, but there was also talk about Prodos releasing a smaller box set with faster gameplay...No apologies, Prodos has never made sense, and Jerick is horrible at communicating with the general public

Heh - there's still backers (like me) who haven't received a thing, let along 'extras'!

In terms of exclusive content for the KS, there was very little other than the Beserker Pred. There's some unreleased stuff like the cloaked preds, resin terrain set and wargame book, but those were all paid-for add-ons in the KS campaign, and I think will all be available on general release.

Here's an archived version of the KS page for those interested. Pretty sickening how much cheaper I could get this if I'd waited for these deals on their webshop instead of backing (and y'know... I'd actually have something XD)

I don't believe so - they're still fulfilling quite a few 3rd party Kickstarters (eg Shattered Void). I think they have quite a good reputation for getting this done - it's pretty much just the AvP KS backers they've screwed (though I'm not sure on the Warzone KS?).

Actually, Archon (the casting wing of Prodos) is making the Siege of the Citadel miniatures according to the KS. I assume they are taking advantage of the 'unicast' process.

From the KS page:

Quote:
Paolo painted the original tiles and the Citadel artwork and has been overseeing a talented team of sculptors including Gael Goumon and Archon Studios in Poland who have been working on the wide range of new sculpts for the game

So Jarek and crew are very much involved (and hence, I will not be backing it).

My girlfriend bought this for me for Christmas and every time I see that a Kickstarter backer still hasn't gotten theirs yet I'm shocked and appalled. It's completely unacceptable that I was able to get this 9 months ago when some backers are still waiting. Is it just a few left who haven't gotten what they pledged for, or many?

I think the majority of backers have gotten at least the boxed game and 'wave 1' items, though not all have gotten anything. Many backers have gotten 'wave 2' but again, not all. And there are still some items some of us are waiting on which I don't think anyone have received (like the alternate marines and cloaked predators).

But, yeah, there are still folks who have gotten nothing, and some of them pledged for quite a bit of stuff. Some in this category gave in to Jarek and crew's extortion effort and bought even more from the web store to get at least some of their pledge shipped, and those that did so did seem to get most of what was available shipped.

No Prodos will not end. They are about to lauch Warzone Resurrection second edition, two new games and works for a lot of different companies supplying miniatures.
I totally understand backers rage but it seems Prodos is shipping avp. As a Warzobe player I never had any problem with them, at least intil now.

Prodos has the license until at least 2018. Besides, they are working on there magnum opus as we speak: Space Bimbos Crusade shake

What would happen if a beloved childhood game set in the 40k universe about Space Marines exploring alien ships was "re-imagined" as an all female cast, with a twist? That twist being instead of empowering women to be more than sex objects, Prodos doubles down on intrepid strippers fighting sexy demon strippers and other ugly/fat demon strippers in uhhh... space, maybe?

'They shall be my finest warriors, these men chicks who give themselves to me.
Like clay cheesecake I shall mould them and in the furnace of war I shall forge them.
They will be of iron will and steely muscle cleavage.
In great armour shall I clad them only their arms and legs and with the mightiest gun shall they be armed.
They will be untouched by plague or disease decades of social progress, no sickness will blight them.
They will have tactics, strategies and machines such that no foe will best them in battle pole dancing.
They are my bulwark against the terror decency.
They are the defenders of Humanity misogyny.
They are my Space Marines Bimbos...
...and they shall know no fear brassiere.'

You make a good point. I think they are going to start focusing on Space Bimbos, app name for this. I don't see them continuing the line for several reasons. They have to go out for the license again. Fox seemed to be a nightmare to deal with. Alien Covenant, might make the license even harder to get and everything is falling under Ridley now, who it seemed almost put a stop to Bolenkamp's Alien movie. Bolenkamp's movie might change things around also, if and when it's produced. What's in the game now might not jive with what is going to happen in the Aliens movie. Alien and Predator, TO my knowledge, no longer have a shared universe. That all puts a cramp on things.

They're to many, I'm one of them - received after long time only the base game and then nothing...

They offert (force) us backers to spent more money on their web-site - off course which is much more expensive as the KS... - that we get a shipment with some additional KS stuff!

I will now try some legal steps against them - I quit waiting!

CLASSIC! Gotta love the 70's Boobs and Ass movie themed Space Bimbo's!
Please read that last sentence in the most sarcastic way you can possibly imagine.
You just know there are a few 40k players out there who are already planning to buy and use entire armies of Sisters of (Porn) Battle.
Sad, very sad.

Hey

I have not heard any such thing, as "end of line". Instead:

-I've seen the dropship (and ordered it )
-I know about the new standalone game half/sneak-announced today (https://www.facebook.com/Alien-vs-Predator-The-Last-Stand-Bo...)
-I've seen the W.A.R. in it's final stages (Wargame rules to be used for Warzone and AvP and others)
-I know that the gang and I have been tasked with creating at least two expansions (The crew for 2.0 are gamers and backers all, from 5 countries, not Prodos employees http://prodosgames.com/blog/avp-20-ruleset-released)

I'm quite confident I can keep enhancing my collection of their models I did not limit myself to AvP after receiving the first pack

Cheers!
