Update from Issac.

On track to complete production in early October. So that means backers should have it in their hands in November!

I was very excited to hear that it will be on a boat soon but... how long does a slow boat from China take?

Doesn't matter. Still excited.

Wasn't this game supposed to be produced in China, but assembled in the US? Maybe we should not expect this game to ship until early December if we plan in the shipping and assembly times.

I had not heard that. According to Isaac, after production, it's a boat trip and a couple truck loads away from getting to us, which implies production includes assembly. He also mentioned on his website that he's got a couple of pre-production games he's bringing at Essen and specifically mentioned that would be one month before we have our hands on the game, which puts it at November in backer's hands. That's what I'm hoping for anyway

It's being assembled at the factory in China.

About 6 weeks. So it's getting close for a November delivery.

Assuming it can quickly find a boat. Other Kickstarters are reporting issues with finning a boat due to the Hanjin bankruptcy. Plus there's always customs issues and other things that pop up once containers arrive at their destinations.

You can order one at Essen, and he will probably have a production copy to show off, but there won't be take-home copies available there.

Doing some research online it looks like it takes 1-4 weeks to prep a shipment from China to US. Then it takes 2-4 weeks for the boat to make the trip to port. Then 1+ weeks to go through customs. Then shipped via ground to publisher/Developer/distributer/fulfillment center (1 week?) Then shipped via ground to backers( 1+ weeks? 1000's of units have to be shipped, that takes time).

So anywhere from 6-12 weeks. Best case scenario you have the game in your hands by 2nd or 3rd week of November. Worst case would be just before or after Christmas. ( of course worst case could be much much worse).

That's the sort of thing that could push delivery into next year. Chinese New Year also slows things down. In theory the game could arrive as late as March/April due to delays in shipping. Hopefully that won't be the case but, it has happened to other products before.

Sounds like good estimates.

Also you can check the FFG website which offers definitions of "At the Printer" and "On the Boat". FFG is an absolute behemoth compared to the game we're all awaiting, so I assume their estimates are based on their huge financial power.

"At the Printer" can take several months.

"On the Boat" can take four to six weeks.

Probably a 2017 campaign for our group, but that's okay, we'll take it!
