I had a ton of fun last year, and I am very much looking forward to November.

I'll be running my Lion Rampant game again, and I'll probably be playing in the SAGA tournament and the Bolt Action tournament.

Sans beard and less Cuban looking this time around.

Looking forward to playing some games and goofing around with some new designs.

My wife and I will be there to play.

I'm also thinking of running something, but not sure what. Maybe Last Blitzkrieg for a group.

"How about a white board that as you walk in that people can put up a game that they want to set up with info like number of players needed, approximate start time, what table, etc?"

This is an excellent idea and I have the perfect board for this. You can expect to see this near the registration table.

Thanks for the suggestion.

By all means, make plans for the white board, but I've just created a geeklist...2016 San Diego Historical Games Convention-- Opponents Wanted for those that like to plan in advance. Wargamers have made opponents wanted geeklists for BGGCon and GMT West, we can do it, too.

Does anyone know if Greg Ticer is running The Seven Years War: Fredrick's Gamble? I was also wondering if Mark Herman would be showing off Pericles for the event.

Hey Daniel

Not sure about Ticer - I keep pressuring him - he is good fun.

Mark Herman indicated he will bring Pericles so I hope to dig into it.

Always interested in COIN games and am bringing A Distant Plain, Fire in the Lake and Liberty or Death.

If anyone is starting a game of Here I Stand or Virgin Queen then I'm interested.

Cheers,
Michael

That might happen. My wife likes both of those games, and she will be at the convention.

I'm not quite sure what our plan is, but we may have an extra seat. Message me and hopefully we can figure something out. (I'll even try not to bring up AFC West rivalries in the car!)

Four-player game of Gallipoli 1915
I registered up last night and am adding it to the schedule. Here's the description:

I will run from Friday 2pm until 2pm Sunday.

Gallipoli 1915 is a grand-tactical game of the landings at Gallipoli in 1915. The Entente (British, Australians, New Zealanders, French, Indians, ....) launch the first modern amphibious invasion in an attempt to capture The Narrows from the Ottoman Empire, force the passage through the Black Sea, and keep Russia in the war.

The game emphasizes command and control. The tactical minutiae is reduced so that the orders meta-game becomes important: "Just exactly what is he going to do with that reserve brigade?"

We will be playing the new stream-lined rules, the final version before publication. Suits four-players in two teams. I propose that we play the Free Landing Scenario - it has the most options.

There are also 2-player scenarios that can be played in half a day, or a full day.
