Hi all,

Planning a visit to Chicago soon and I am wondering if there is any recommendations for,

1. Brick and mortar FLGS (friendly local game stores)
2. Good thrift shops for board games.

Thanks for the help in advance.

+2, these are the only ones within Chicago that aren't 99.9% Magic. Dice Dojo is more strategy and minis oriented, Cat & Mouse is more kids and puzzle/toy oriented. But you should check out both because they both have board games that the other doesn't. Cat & Mouse has a bigger discount and consignment section.

Thanks people for the recommendations,

So the other 2 FLGS should be,

Dice Dojo: http://www.chicagolandgames.com/

Cat & Mouse: http://cat-mouse-games.myshopify.com/

Any good thrift stores around for board games in the city of Chicago? Likely putting up at Intercontinental Chicago: http://www.icchicagohotel.com/

The Cat & Mouse on Armitage has two square tables to play on. They have a demo library of about 40 games.

The Cat & Mouse on Madison has a more roomy and obvious play area with 4 or 6 tables and about 70 demo games.

If you're willing to drive a bit, there's a great store in Downers Grove called "Fair Game" - they have a wall of games you can play on the store and an excellent variety.

Don't have a car here, otherwise it sounds fun. Was out to Galloping Ghost. But I stick to cat & mouse when it comes to board gaming, exept the Comic store near Grant Park.
