My in-laws are taking a trip to Italy in a few weeks and I was wondering if there were any good games I should ask them to keep an eye out for that may be harder or impossible to get in the US.

I'm a feder-allergic and I blame the Klingon for not having smashed the Federation in time to save us from Star Trek serials.

Italy has a MUCH nicer-looking edition of Tichu than the RGG one.

I'm pretty open to type. Apart from super light or super heavy games I play pretty much anything.

A smaller game would probably be nice to make it easier to transport. And language independence or requiring minor pasteups would also be nice.

Thanks for the suggestions. I have been interested in trying these. I'll add Tichu to the list. Glory to Rome looks nice, but might be a pain to pasteup to make it playable.

I believe this can be only found in Italy, in spite of having English rules.

And it's a nice and well-themed deduction game.

Egizia

Excellent game, impossible to find anywhere but in Italy, I think.

Among the others it is published by Hans im Glück Verlags-GmbH and Rio Grande Games, so you can find almost everywhere.

I guess you should have to focus on small Publishers that haven't a distributor (maybe not anymore) about some nice games published in the past, such as :
- 011 from Scribabs;
- Jerusalem from Red Glove;
- Comuni/Daimyo/Dakota/ChangCheng from TenkiGames (OOP);
- Maestro Leonardo/Gonzaga from daVinci (dV games)
- Vasco de Gama from What's Your Game? (And many others);
- One more barrel; De Vulgari Eloquentia; Historia from Giochix.it;
... More I add more it comes to my mind laugh

I let others add more suggestions!

It is out of print everywhere, you can find used copies of english versions but you'll pay too much for it. There are many people asking for a reprint. However in Italy last year I found a stack of the italian version in a local boardgame shop.

Interesting, but without telling this it could sound strange.
