Hi, greetings from a new(ish) heroscape fan. I had a copy I got rid of years ago because I couldn't have it permanently set up, and also I didn't really have anyone to play with. Now, I have a gaming basement (yay!) and also a 7 yo daughter (oh sh...I mean yay!); we played a couple weeks ago with a friend's copy and the kid got instantly hooked.

So, I've snatched a RotV master set and there's another Marvel set on its way home. I started looking for new battlefields and custom units online but it's been a little hard to find anything. I know about heroscapers.com, but apart from finding the custom superheroes list, I haven't been able to find any other custom lists (would like to find custom ww2 units for instance); and the battlefields are worse, all I found is a huge list which you have to browse item by item to see what sets you need and how many of them.

To give you an example of what I am talking about, for the game Memoir44, there is an awesome online search tool in which you specify which items you have in your collection and it displays all scenarios you can play with them. Is there a similar tool for heroscape?

Here is the link to the list of the Books of all official units:
http://www.heroscapers.com/community/showthread.php?t=8099

And here is the link to the list of the Books of all C3V (Heroscapers.com created) custom units:
http://www.heroscapers.com/community/showthread.php?t=33402

And here is the link to the list of the Books of all the C3G (Heroscapers.com custom superheroes) custom units:
http://www.heroscapers.com/community/showthread.php?t=28457

Note, Heroscapers.com refers to a forum where a unit is listed with its card, character bio, FAQ, and discussion a Book.

If you're ok with using proxy figures, Heroscapers.com official unit books is a great resource for expanding your army choices without spending tons of money.

This site http://waronline.net/heroscape/draft/hsdraft.htm
also has a random army generator. It allows you to pick what figures you have and how many of each you have. Then it will randomly generate armies from your list at the point size you desire.

I have found it to be a nice tool to use when people are still new to Heroscape and the idea of drafting an army is still intimidating. It can also be a fun way to mix things up, if you're seeing the same armies drafted over and over again.

And on the flip side, if you'd prefer your armies to be a bit more thematically cohesive, as opposed to randomly generated, you can check out Project 500, a list of 36 500-point armies, each one using units that are thematically related (some more than others).

One other thing: If you're at Heroscapers, and you're struggling to find something or you feel like you're spinning your wheels and getting frustrated, just ask. Post and ask. Or just send me a message (I'm Dad_Scaper), if you're feeling shy. But it's a welcoming community, so you shouldn't worry about asking for help.
