When it is your turn to send a VASSAL move, the wait is excruciating. When it's my turn, well, I've been busy.

's inspired homage to Piano Man, I was expecting something different, this being the era of Marvel Comics movie retreads. I was thinking about a wargamer super hero.

Here's the premise: young Peter Panzerfaust is a high school senior, who plays esoteric and complex board games in his spare time. One day, when visiting his dear uncle who has a large collection of games from SPI, AH, GMT, GDW, and MMP, a freak high-intensity tornado strikes and whirls Peter and this huge collection of games up into the funnel cloud where Peter becomes a living mix of cardboard and flesh. Peter is thrown from the storm and lands in the lobby of his FLGS where he is nursed back to health. But as he recovers, Peter realizes he is changed, and has abilities not known to normal men. As he learns to harness the powers for good, he becomes - Wargame Man.

What are his super-powers?

He can't even consider learning how to "harness his powers" for anything unless someone frees him from shrinkwrap.

His superpowers are still limited as he can not accumulate movement factors from one moment to another moment.

Edit 1: correcting autocorrect.

"Zone of Control!"

Maybe he could have some unexplained, limited ability to perfectly
knock the corners off objects with concussive blasts.

Limited time-warping/freezing with IGOUGO movement.

Ability to disrupt stealth/cloaking powers with pointed discussions on skulking.

Unless they're light cavalry or recon units?!

If Wargame Man is a mild mannered high school history (or geography) teacher in disguise, he can immediately teleport himself and/or students to a battlefield that they're discussing in class. By doing that he creates a whole new class of Wargame men after his charges complete rigorous hell week of playing Case Blue, Last Blitzkrieg, Empire of the Sun, Prague, This Terrible Sound, and their choice Of GMT's 17th Century series.

He has an extraordinary ability to hunt down many criminals, and yet engages very few of them.

Unfortunately, he can't use his superpowers, or do anything really, until someone pulls his chit.

There is already a wargame superhero and his name is Calandale (his YouTube handle) so I don't need a fictitious one. He has the ability to play almost any game multiplayer solitaire. Yes, he even played Fellowship of the Ring solo, a not really a wargame that uses hidden movement with rumors.

Think of it this way: imagine a block wargame where you had units that would spawn other blocks at the start of your turn that would be false (blank) units and where an opponent could reveal a specific group of men or conceal them under a generic title (ie, the piece that represented Rommel could be revealed only as a panzer division if the opponent didn't want to use his abilities and didn't want you to know Rommel was present).

Of course, like all good superheroes, he has a weakness - he can be cantankerous and grizzled and thus has been exiled from BGG for voicing his opinion in a... less than diplomatic way... at times.

Ultimately, that would be our fictional superheroes powers: the ability to be alone and not lonely, to compartmentalize his brain in order to play multiplayer solitaire, to read vast amounts of rules, and the ability to modify the rules or "guess at them" and make his own game. Also, the ability to voice his opinion without much tact and deep knowledge on several esoteric topic round out his abilities. Hmmm - can't forget the agility with tweasers and the ability to manipulate tall stacks of counters without knocking them over (plus the recall ability to know what they are without having to look). Anything less, and he wouldn't be Wargame Man.

His strength is doubled if he is on a hill or behind a river, but halved if he cannot trace a path, of any length, to a 7-11 or Taco Bell.

He always wins when attacked, except at 3-1 odds or better.

I think it would have to be slow down time - as each minute of his battles would take 3 hours of normal time to resolve.

In the meantime, EuroGame Man would have fought three battles and talked about the superiority of his method of fighting.
