Poll: Arkham Hororr: The Card Game - Token Bag Input Poll
My wife and I make dice bags, and I'm probably a little too excited for the upcoming Arkham Horror LCG. I figure we have a sewing machine and an embroidery machine, so why not make something fancy.

Of course, I also figure other folks may want the same thing, so I'm here to get your opinion.

None of these are finalized, I just want to get ideas and input from the other folks who are going to go crazy for this game.
1. What color would you want your bag to be? Each bag has two colors, one "outside" and one "inside", but the bag itself is fully reversible.
ABCD Black
ABCD Bright Blue
ABCD Dark Blue
ABCD Brown
ABCD Dark Gray
ABCD Light Gray
ABCD Bright Green
ABCD Dark Green
ABCD Orange
ABCD Bright Purple
ABCD Dark Purple
ABCD Bright Red
ABCD Dark Red
ABCD Bright Yellow
ABCD Dark Yellow
2. What would you want embroidered on the outside?
Nothing
Cthulhu head
Elder sign (star)
Elder sign (branch)
Yellow sign
Skull
Cultist hood silhouette

You can see images of our dice bags here.

I'm very open to other ideas and input.

Oh, and to clarify - the Embroidery could be pretty much any color, but I would likely go with a color that would at least compliment the inside color, so like a bright red elder sign (star) on a black bag outside with a dark red inside.

And once I have one made, I'll post pics here.

You might want to consider dice cups or something of that order that could be used instead of a bag.

The bags look like they are made to stand up, so it's roughly equivalent to a cup already except you can close the drawstring.

Yeah, I have some bags with circle bottoms that stand up (for my monster cups) and they're great because the close with drawstring and/or fold up nicely if you store it empty.

You might want to show these bags on the Orleans board game site, where every player has their own bag and colors.

What are the dimensions of your bags? L x W x D if appropriate.

Thanks.

The bags are free standing on their own, so they're like a cup, but they fold flat and are made of fabric. Best of both worlds.

Not a bad idea, but one thing at a time.

They are 4.75 - 5 inches tall and about 3.25 - 3.5 inches wide and long.

I went to my local Joann's craft store last night and got the (at the time) four most popular colors.

From the top, they're the dark green, black, dark blue, and dark purple, though the purple looks a lot brighter than it actually is and the green is a little brighter in the photo than it looks like in real life.

To give people an idea for pricing, so we can set expectations now, we sell unembroidered dice bags for $15 and if we add embroidery, it's based on stitches and complexity. Currently, purely as an estimate, I think the bags with embroidery in most cases will be around $20. That number may change, depending on how crazy Cthulhu makes me or whatever other factors influence my mind.

Will be watching this thread intently. I love bags with bottoms, and the embroidery makes these look super high-quality.

Time for another poll! I just want to gauge how much real interest there are in these bags.

Poll: Ordering Custom Chaos Token Bags
How many custom Chaos Token drawstring bags would you purchase? Pricing would be $15 for a regular bag, $20-ish for an embroidered one, all plus shipping.

Mock ups of the ideas that I had listed, as well as a few variant ideas based on them. Click for bigger, but know that these are simply mock ups in the software. These may not be the final images, the colors can easily be changed, and the shading will look different on the actual fabric.

Edit: Oh, and any stray lines are connecting stitches and would not be on the finished piece.

Have you considered doing this for Lord of the Rings: War of the Ring? I would definitely be interested if you were to do something.

So it's been brought to my attention that that Elder Sign image is owned by Fantasy Flight Games, so it likely would not be a good idea for me to sell anything with that logo on it. If anyone knows better, I'm all ears.

Based on some sloppy google-fu, it looks like the elder sign description (described it as a warped, five-pointed star with a flaming pillar (or eye) in the center) came into being in the Lurker at the Threshold story, so I highly doubt FFG has the trademark to the symbol, though I guess it's possible they might own that exact rendering. I'd imagine you could find another, similar one with little issue.

Failing that, I'm also digging the classic elder sign image as well, in all its frondy goodness.

"Lurker" was published in 1945 and written by Derleth, so it's not in the public domain part of the Mythos. The branch version, however, is Lovecraft's own creation, so it should be fine to use.

(Incidentally, Robert Chambers never described the Yellow Sign, so that symbol is Chaosium's IP)

To be safe, I think the best thing at this point is to come up with images that I can own that are "inspired by" the ones from the game. I think I'd be after:

Elder Sign (Star)
Cthulhu Head
Elder Sign (Branch)
Tentacles
Cultist Hood

If anyone out there wants to take a shot at making vector images in a single color (maybe two for the Cthulhu, for colored eyes), please let me know and we can talk about ideas for compensation. I can't promise fame and fortune, but perhaps some dice bags can be discussed.

Wonderful! I wonder how it might look with a sparkly/shiny blue thread.
