Forbidden stars was £56 on amazon up until a few hours ago.

Nope £100 here, not really a hot deal if you post after the price has gone up.

I did, it would be a hot deal if still was £56 at time of posting.

This is a hot deals forum, not a speculative hot deals forum

I snagged one when it was £56. I knew they'd go fast but not quite that fast!

Edit: Come to think of it I originally purchased it from Amazon for £66, Flubited it for £58, then cancelled my order with Amazon when it dropped to £56.

I'll stick a camel on it, you never know. Was it with Amazon or a third party?

Won't ever get reprinted in its current form so value will only increase over time. This and Chaos in the Old World will be highly sought after.
Luckily flubited both and grabbed them for %15 off before GW/FF announcement went mainstream.
Woot!

I wouldn't be surprised if these orders weren't fulfilled, but it's worth a punt.

When Amazon says typically 2-3 weeks they are relying on the distributer - which often gives dodgy numbers - Same thing happend with Legendary Fantastic 4 (when it was going out of print) - the order was eventually cancelled by Amazon after 4 months!

It's £61 at the moment - this is still a very good price I think. Although as mentioned, supply might not be "2-3 weeks".

Amazon have apparently started sending out board games with no outer packaging (like they commonly do for kitchen mixers and DIY tools), with the shipping labels slapped directly on the shrinkwrap. Presumably they figure that a board game has a sturdy outer box and much like other products that come in a sturdy outer box, it's the thing inside that matters and the box is just there to hold them until you receive them. I'm guessing they'll only do this for shrinkwrapped boxes. I'm hoping they'll only do this for shrinkwrapped boxes!

If they're going to do this, though, there'll be a note in the checkout process that the item will come in identifiable packaging. You can specifically request that it's put in a shipping box, but you have to notice and specifically request it.

Which I take is their way of saying it isn't in a box. But then....

Is delivered in Certified Frustration-Free Packaging

Which I guess is not lying but also you can...

Dispatch in Amazon Box

so yes.. you have to notice.

My Forbidden Stars came this morning without an outer box, though to their credit they must be taking great care to insure they're not crushed as mine is in immaculate condition.

Amazon seem to be using their own delivery agents a lot more recently. Which can only be a good thing for consumers - unlike Parcelforce or whomever, Amazon has an incentive to not damage products ordered from Amazon!

Parcelforce still have to pay out on parcels they damage so have a similar incentive. The difference with Parcelforce is they're established and experienced - I'd rather have them than some unknown Amazon sub-sub-contractor rushing the delivery because they're paid a pittance per parcel and need large volumes to make a living.
