The cards are standard Poker size: 2.5" x 3.5". They're the same size as Magic: The Gathering cards, for example.

The number of sleeves you need depends on what you purchase:

The standard retail version has 111 cards.

The standard game from Kickstarter includes a Kickstarter Bonus Pack, for a total of 124 cards.

The Kickstarter Deluxe Box adds two more expansion packs for a total of 150 cards.

The bonus pack and the expansion packs should also be available as separate purchases through retail channels, if you missed the Kickstarter.

You can see a full description of the contents of each package on the Villages of Valeria Kickstarter page.

A user on the BGG Facebook group is saying that Fantasy Flight Supply sleeves do not fit in the insert (of the deluxe box). He says they are slightly longer that other brands of the same size.

EDIT: Did some investigating and it looks like the the deluxe plastic insert is narrower at the bottom. The Ultra Pro sleeve I had to test with fit exactly without bending the corners. If Fantasy Flight sleeves are indeed a millimeter or so longer, they would get their corners bent. You can see that the bottom corners of the dividers are getting dinged.
