Are they going to release the premium incestigators for the new ones included in the 2e base game?

Are they appropriate for a family friendly environment?

A bit too friendly, some might argue.

Weirdly enough, I haven't seen Father Mateo amongst the prepainted ones.

I've seen him talking to the boy in the doorway in Innsmouth.

Ouch... I saw what you did there...

Wait for it...

That's what he said...

Ok that's enough off colour humour about prepainted miniatures!

Father Mateo is a new investigator introduced in mansions v2. The prepainted figures are of the original 48 arkham horror investigators, as they were released as premium pieces for that game. Considering they kind of stopped production on all the old figures (they've been selling off whatever was left in stock and haven't been replacing it) I'm honestly not sure if they will pick up the four new investigators.

I have to believe that if they had another production run of the investigators and monsters that the new investigators for MoM2 have to be coming.

It always seemed to me that premiums, mainly the monsters, were always more for MoM and with a hot new MoM2 out they also dusted off the mini molds.

The investigator miniatures in 2e are cast differently to the originals. The figure and base are cast in PVC whereas the 1e figures were mounted on a styrene disc. Perhaps they are retooling the entire line so they can be manufactured more economically.

The main reason I never bought into the premium figures (after cost) was because they were prepainted. The photos of the investigators are decidedly uninspiring. Sloppy paint, googly eyes, and desperately in need of shading.

A quick dip in a can of Quickshade does wonders to pretty the prepaints up. They'll still never look as good as a set of figures painted with a little love and care, but they do in a pinch.

So true, Kevin. For my money, I'd rather get them unpainted in MoM and do the paint job from start to finish.

'Premium' implies a decent paint job. The paint application on the investigators and human figures doesn't warrant the extra expense, for me anyway. The monsters otoh look quite well done.
