Does anybody know what the levels represent when you create or join a game on board gaming online? There appear to be up to 4 levels represented by stars...

they mean nothing.... it's only so that people now what level the game creator wants the opponents to be on, so 1 star are new players and 4 stars are expert players... but nowhere in the site you are graded as either, you grade yourself

It's just a way to indicate the skill level of players involved, but since there's no solid documentation about it, it ends up kinda vague. Basically though, 1* is likely beginners/casual, 4* is likely veteran players, 2-3* is somewhere vaguely in between.
