Nice find. I think the most crucial part of the article was badly placed: the whistleblower fiasco. I've heard this for decades from a variety of people in government service (state and federal), from those who wear uniforms and carry guns to those to sit in a cubicle and bang away at a keyboard. The US government needs an ombudsman-type department that will take the information provided by whistleblowers and investigate without bias or wanting to protect high government officials. I'm sure Congress will get around to that as soon as they reform election laws to stop allowing members of Congress to pocket whatever campaign funds they didn't use in the last election cycle.
