You say that now. Let's return in a few weeks and see how prescient the OP actually was. I'll be trying to order the game from my hotel room at Essen. I'm not expecting it to necessarily go as planned.

One of the driving forces of this game is the "ZOMG I can't believe it's so inexpensive!". And buying in the US, at least, it is - $75 + $8 freight. Bargain.

The trouble with shipping to Australia/NZ from the other side of the world though is that freight is a killer. Combined with exchange rates, that turns a "$75 game" into a $AU180 game.

It looks lovely... but damn. soblue

I didn't get a copy (yet) because all the early copies went to reviewers.

Why would I need a copy of this when I already have Roborally and Pirate Dice -- two already existing programming although competitive race games. The big difference here seems to be coop/scenarios and miniatures. I won't say overproduced because I agree they are probably cheap for what you get. But, I think the Roborally plastic pieces are just fine as well.

I guess I'm used to buying on 50% - 70% discount and $40 for me is a pricey game that I really have to like.

It's just not my type of game. Despite how incredible the production, it will not get played, so it makes no sense to buy it just to be a shelf-queen. I will pass and admire from afar.
