This is a PBF campaign without moderator. OL decks and interupts will be handled via the md4 hash system. For details see below.

Rules:
Game moves (actions, movements, etc) are posted in bold. Non-bolded text will be treated as commentary. I welcome discussion/tactical planning but I need to differentiate game moves from comments and fluff at first glance. Fluff should be posted in italics. Everything else is commentary. Post "End turn" (in bold) after your turn, or something similar. Also, the last hero posts "Heroes done".

As soon as a die roll has been made, another player interrupted the current players turn or the "End turn"-statement has been posted, the submitted game moves are permanent and cannot be modified anymore. The target of an attack has to be included in the commentary field of the roll itself. Anything that has to be declared before a dice roll (e.g. use of valor tokens, etc) must also be included in the commentary field.

Please reread your posts before submitting.

If someone makes an illegal/invalid action (i.e. against the rules of the game), all later moves, rolls etc. become invalid and the game rewinds to that point. Usually, only illegal/invalid actions taken within the last 48 hours can be rewound.

The Overlord may request slo-mo mode at any time. During slo-mo mode, the heroes should only post what they do up until the first time a die roll is made (either for an attack, an ability, etc.) The Overlord is free to interrupt the hero turn at any point, "rewinding" the game in order to play a trap card or something similar. If the Overlord declines, or after 48 hours, the hero turn will continue.

As this is a PBF-game without moderator we need to use a encrytion system for the OL to handle OL deck and other things. In brief, it works like this:
1. The OL writes down a numbered list of all OL cards he is going to use in the quest.
2. Using md4 hash system, an encrypted code string (called md4-hash) is generated and posted before quest starts. This code is unique for the numbered list, but the list cannot be retrieved using the hash.
3. OL cards are randomly drawn from the numbered list using GeekRoller's custom roll feature.
4. As soon as the quest is finished, OL posts the numbered list of his deck. Heroes can then check if this list generates the same hash the OL posted. If the hash is not identical with the one posted at the beginning of the quest, something is wrong.

Another problem in PBF games is that, unlike in RL games, the OL can often play interrupt cards only after the result of subsequent actons is already known (e.g. playing a trap card only after dice for the following attack are rolled). Of course, this would grant the OL a significant advantage. However, the md4-hash system can help here, too: After heroes agreed on a plan for the next round, the OL posts a hash encrypting his interrupts with corresponding triggering information (e.g. "Play Tripwire on Serena as soon as she performs a move action"). These interrupts are posted at the end of the quest and can be checked by heroes.

Note: GeekRoller will allow max. 3 kinds of custom dice due to character limit. If you have 4+ different dice, split them into 2 rolls.
Remember to include the target of the attack and anything that has to be declared before rolling dice in the commentary field of every roll. It'll get rid of the annoying code (it's still visible beneath the post if you really need to)!

AutoHotKey
You can use the free software AutoHotKey (AHK) to automatically replace keywords during typing (e.g. "stamina") by forum links pointing to the corresponding images ("
" for this case). This also works with die rolls. I created an AHK script that is restricted to the BGG site to keep AHK inactive in other applications you are using in parallel. Keywords are not case-sensitive.
If you wanna give this a try, download AutoHotKey and my list of predefined keywords.

For now, the list includes the following keywords:

FoxReplace
You can use the Firefox add-on FoxReplace to replace keywords (e.g. "stamina") by forum links pointing to the corresponding images ("ImageID=2625360 original inline" in brackets for this case). So when I am finished a writing a new post using the forum editor I just press shift-F9 to get all keywords replaced by links in one go.
This also works with die rolls. Open the dice roller, type keyword (e.g. "blueD") for the dice you want to roll, add a second die separated by a "+" if needed ("blueD+yellowD") and press shift-F9 to get keywords replaced by code for the dice.

If you wanna give this a try, download FoxReplace and my list of keywords. Import list into FoxReplace and you are done.

So, I guess that should be enough.
Since you (Mothai) are an experienced player in PBF games, maybe you have some other recomendations on rules and/or smth else?

Anyway, we need to discuss few things.

1. What campaign would we play?
2. How we should pick heroes (I know that some players prefer to draw 3-4 of each archetype and choose from them)
3. Rumor cards?
4. Plot decks?
5. CK?

Since we both are fine with playing as OL or heroes, I guess we'll just roll a die on it

only the usual rules. I would maybe recomment a descent tracker or vassal aswell as it is quite nice to visualize things.

1) I would like to play shadows of nerekhall as it is my least played one. Maybe Mists of Bilehall / Chains that rust might be interesting too. But if you prefer something else I would be fine aswell.
With SoN or MoB I would prefer Heroes, otherwise I would prefer OL; random Heroes or OL is fine aswell.

2) Random 3-4 for each hero slot in that archetype, pick 1 is usually quite nice

3-4) Rumors and Plots I would only use together, if we want, but I have to say that they pretty much add to the pbf lenght.

5) H&M Packs > CK

Post "End of activation / end of heroes turn" after your turn, or something similar. This is simply to help me update and speed up the game.

Maximum delay is 72 hours. The timer is off on weekends and holidays. This is flexible. If you know you can't make it/have an IRL problem/have a local holiday, PM me. If you know you can't continue playing, let me know so I can find a replacement.

Only actions taken within the last 48 hours can be rewound/interrupted. Exceptions only if you PM me beforehand. I want to avoid unnecessary slowdowns.

Descriptions:

I am a fluff description, brave heroes. Italicized text will tell you about your surroundings and give you hints on what dangers and rewards award you in the immediate area. But beware, as looks can sometimes be misleading!

This is a game mechanics text. Big Ugly Monster hits Player for 16 damage -3 armor, Player is knocked out. (no, not really)

Normal text is my commentary.

The maps will be posted every turn, A text summary of stats/visible cards/etc. will be attached.

Note: This post, including the rules, may change during the game. It is in your interest to check the OP once in a while. If the rules change, they won't be retroactive.

It is more of a trust thing, if you are fine with edits in diceroll posts, I dont mind either. Usual PBF style is 1 roll then a reply to that roll.

Vassal is much easier to use, but I have to see how up to date it is.

Yeap, GrayD isn't working, you can add it pretty easily (just go to your addons in firefox, find foxreplace and it's easy to convert.

I'm fine with editing, also I'm fine with not editing. I don't think that there is great reason to lie. Anyway, rolls usually include all important info insude them (target, weapon, range), so that shouldn't be an issue.

I've used Vassal long time ago to play GoT. I will install it if you want to use it.

Key, One Fist and Ker are missing in the heroes (newer H&M releases including monsters). Also all maps from SoN are missing.

Well, maps can be easily build (like 20-30 minutes). I asked developer to add these heroes.

Also I choose basic deck 1.

Well, that's a good question.

1. We could make it more powerfull for hero side (just giving away the rest of the deck, which leads to reveling the hand as well), then heroes create new deck of 4 cards and draw them for OL, and at this point Ol will have to know what card is on rhe botoom.

2.We could make it more powerfyll for OL (so he would knew all the cards that Seer looked at and the one sent to the bottom)

3. Mix 1 and 2

4. Plat as Seer but replace heroic feat.

5. Replace Seer entirely.

6. Find moderator.

How about a variant which offers a slight upgrade but is easier to manage in pbf:

Use when the overlord plays a overlord card from his hand to place that card on the bottom of the overlord deck. The overlord reveals his hand then draws a card.

or a much weaker version:

Use during your turn or during the overlord turn when the overlord plays a overlord card from his hand that targets you to place that card on the bottom of the overlord deck. The the overlord reveals his hand then draws a card.

which would be both pretty close to the original intent of the effect.

Another weaker variation might be:
Use during your turn to look at the overlord hand. Place 1 of the cards on the bottom of the overlord deck. Then the overlord draws a card.

Well, last one is just like Mok's feat, just worse.

First option is much better then the feat itself (in my opinion). That feat would make me very sad.

Second option seems fine, just want to clarify: for example Ispher is moving to a space adjacent to Seer and I play web trap. Does it "target" the Seer?

doesnt matter as it is neither her turn nor the overlord turn.
