I'm sure there's a ton but I'm just curious. Out of 130+ games I think I've only had two that use dice besides D6. Cave Evil uses a d12 and a d4 and Kingdom Death has d10. What are some other great games that use different types of dice? Solo/2p appreciated.

Galaxy defenders
uses d10 extensively. Soloable (coop campaign game)

Toboggans of doom
uses d20, d12, d10, d8, d6, d4. Great use of dice for purchasing upgrades, but a real randomfest in the actual gameplay. I would actually like to see this mechanic on a more robust game.

Aquädukt uses a d20. It's a nice quick game that's playable with two. The only other ones I can think of off hand are more than 2 players.

If you are open to wargames.

Fighting Formations: Grossdeutschland Motorized Infantry Division is a great tactical WW2 game which uses d6, d8, d10, d12, and d20!

There are a lot of wargames which use d10 specifically. E.g. Enemy Action: Ardennes (which has 2-player as well as true solitaire vs AI player).

Just taking a look at what is around me.

There was a lot of buzz over Pathfinder Adventure Card Game: Rise of the Runelords – Base Set which uses most of the roleplaying dice, IIRC.

Dead of Winter: A Crossroads Game has a d12 in it.

XCOM: The Board Game and Flash Point: Fire Rescue have d8s in them.

Formula Dé (or maybe it's D) has a whole bunch of dice in it

+1 for Formula D/De for not being constrained to numbering the full range (e.g. the d30 only has faces with 20-30 on them).

Button Men pretty much uses every different sided polyhedral die you can find.

Powerboats uses d3.

Pirate vs Pirate uses prism d4. They don't roll very well (since they're not rounded like the d3 in Powerboats), but much easier to read than tetrahedral d4 (which don't roll well either).

Dead of Winter: A Crossroads Game uses mostly D6s for actions, BUT, the exposure/danger die is a D12. And it is frightening!
