Well, where to begin? I've been on the journey to get into Hoplo for a while now. After receiving some outstanding Crowd Favor Champions, I'm hopping in. Which add-ons would be best with Origins? The beast and master pack sounds awesome. What are the recommendations?!? Thanks in advance!

Greetings!

For Origins, you will want to look at the Legends of the Sand, which adds more unique gladiators and tactics for each city! Beast & Master will also work, but remember, you will want to draft BOTH the Beast & Master to yield the best benefits from both!

Thanks again for your great question!

Thanks Adam! I'll pull that one up and see about adding it. I'll probably wait until the new cities get added. It sounds like there is plenty in the base game of Origins!

Well, loving Origins and went all in on the expansions for the TMB pledge. Now, I'm considering adding one of the other Hoplo games or just the additional map.

I've enjoyed the smaller arenas but think I might enjoy the larger maps for versus play. Which favors more of the 2v1 or open map combat, RoR or TLC?

The Lost Cities allows for a bit more of deploying gladiators and getting prepped than Rise of Rome which is more in-your-face and combat starts more quickly.

Go for TLC if you want more Gladiators on the Arena and do more of a 'dance'. Go for RoR if you want to draw blood and gain an upper hand ASAP.

Important note... I noticed you said '2v1'. I think you mean Coop vs. the board... If you did mean 2v1, then TLC has 3 Cities and you will have to play with house rules to attempt a 2v1...

TLC can be played 3vB, 2vB, 1vB (solo), 1v1
RoR can be played 2vB, 1vB (solo), 1v1

I hope this helps!

TLC may be the prime choice then! I'd like to get as many people playing as possible as well as more of a "chess" match going. Love the in your face with Origins, but I think the other end of the spectrum might be nice.

Thanks Adam!
