Hi,

I am quite new in the world of board-gaming but definitely hooked me!
I started to watch reviews and look games here in BBG then I started to buy and play some must have games (Pandemic, Agricola, 7 wonders, etc.) and I am looking for a board game group to play more often.
I am Italian so I would like to meet English speaking gamers and I have a small daughter so I would like to play during the week after work.
No problem to go somewhere public or in a private house, I can also host games at my place if it is necessary (Amsterdam Noord).
Please let me know if someone is interested: I'm willing to buy and play more and more games.
Thank you,

Marco

There are three, no four, no five, no six (sorry) groups active in Amsterdam and its surroundings.

Tyche in VU Culture Center 'De Griffioen'. Gather every monday evening.
Amsterdice in Spellokaal Ludo. Gather whenever they gather which I believe is on friday evenings and some weekend days.
SC Culte des Ghoules, but where in Amsterdam they perform their ghoulish rites I don't know. They specialise in Ameritrash, and its founder is an active BGG'er.
— In Zaandam (which isn't far from where you live) there is Koek & Spel who get together every second thursday of the month. You'll find me there on occasion.
— Then there is Gamepack, a fairly tight group of players who regularly play in Amsterdam and its metropolitan area.
— And finally you can visit Vrij & Blij who gather in Landsmeer (which also isn't far from where you live).

I'm sure there are also plenty of informal groups to be found, perhaps some of them will even contact you. Good luck & enjoy!

Thank you for the information Maarten,

It is a lot of things to dig around.
I am pretty sure I will find a nice group to play with!

Thank you Maarten!

We perform our rites where ever the organiser of the event wants to. This could be at someone's house or in a cafe or catacomb somewhere underneath a gothic church.

I see that Marco has found us already and I have started the initiate ritual for him to enter the club. If you don't hear from him anymore, don't worry! He is fine as long as he wears the Elder sign around his neck. devil

I'd like to add Amsterdam Board Game Group Meetup. I've been to their Sunday afternoon events twice, and it's a good crowd. Good mix of locals and expats. They play in Oud West, which is fairly easy to get to from Noord after you cross the IJ.

As I'm into Ameritrash, does Cultes des Ghoules have a way to contact them for those of us without FB? edit: nevermind, saw that the owner replied here.

Yes, we can get a hold of you without FB.
I would estimate that about 1/4 to 1/3 of our group are expads. We love everyone that loves Ameritrash your origin is not important to us.

You can send me an email via meijerc@gmail.com or Jestergamesnl@gmail.com

Hope to meet up soon! Invite your friends from the Amsterdam Board Game Group Meetup too.
