Hi all,

I've just started working on my mech minis from Scythe, and I've decided to do some stuff to the bases for the first time. I've seen some people doing water effects on minis before now, so I've picked up some Vallejo Still Water and was wondering if anyone could give me some advice?

These are the mechs I will be doing:

As you can see the are kind of based on a viking style long boat(ish). I'd like to do mine standing in water, so the whole base covered in water. My idea is to put some small, fine gravel on the base, then cover it in a few layers of liquid water so it looks like it stood in a river - do you think this would work?

Does anyone have any advice on technique, if what I'm after will work, if there's any ways you can create waves, ripples, splashes etc.

Thanks in advance!

You should post this in the mini painting forum.
