On mission 4 of The Darkness Within - Complete the ritual, it has the FAITH player to remove all remaining corruption tokens. Are those the only the corruption tokens on the board at the time of the start of the mission, or does it include the 2 corruption tokens that the SIN player can put down at the start of every round, including rounds after mission 4 starts?

If this is the case, where it includes having to remove the subsequent corruption tokens placed in later rounds, doesn't this make it incredibly difficult, perhaps impossible, for the FAITH player to accomplish? I mean the SIN player can just put two tokens on complete opposite sides of the map and spawn monsters in between them just to block the way. It makes it especially difficult when facing PRIDE because it punishes FAITH for having heroes that are separated from each other.

It reads clearly as the latter - essentially get to the position where there are no corruption tokens on the map (regardless of how they got there).

And yes - it should be difficult for FAITH. Maybe stock up on extra turns or perform mission 3A, carefully selecting the districts to sanctify to make mission 4 easier (iirc, Districts remain marked and can't take further corruption).

Removing the "remaining" corruption tokens means IMHO that no more tokens are spawned and you just have to remove those that are on the board once the final stage of the mission. As Corruption Tokens cannot just be spawned on districts but on every(!) space the Sin Player could lead the heroes on a merry chase.

So I stop spawning the Tokens once "Complete The Ritual" is reached.
